To celebrate its 50th edition in 2022, the Festival La Rochelle Cinéma (Fema) will pay tribute to a legendary actor of unearthly beauty, ALAIN DELON.
This extraordinary performer has worked with the greatest filmmakers: René Clément, Luchino Visconti, Jean-Pierre Melville, Michelangelo Antonioni, Joseph Losey, Jean-Luc Godard, and many others.
Our poster design, painted, as every year, by the artist Stanislas Bouvier, expresses the essence of this rare homage.
« The poster for the 50th Festival is an eye. This eye, magnetic and stirring, which attracts and disturbs, which enchants the viewer in the dark, is that of Alain Delon in Plein Soleil, when the young French actor made his triumphal entrance into the palace of artifice, illusion, and mirages that is cinema, as celebrated every year in La Rochelle. » Stanislas Bouvier
Alain Delon embodies a golden age of French and Italian cinema from the 1960s to the 1980s. From Christine in 1958, the film in which he met Romy Schneider, to Nouvelle Vague in 1990, our tribute will present 21 films, including some masterpieces, in beautiful restorations by StudioCanal, Pathé, Gaumont, and TF1 Studio. Explore the list of films here.
Between July 1 and 10, each film will be screened 3 times and additional events will complete the tribute: a roundtable with specialists and fans of the star, a photo exhibition in a historic site of the city of La Rochelle, and a music lesson in tribute to Ennio Morricone based on the film The Sicilian Clan (1969).
See you at Fema for this exceptional homage!
