Stanley Kubrick

Stanley Kubrick est né à New York le 26 juillet 1928. Après des études universitaires à New York, il fait ses débuts en 1956 comme photographe pour le magazine Look. 1950 : il vient au cinéma en filmant Day of the Fight, un court métrage qui retrace la journée d’un boxeur. 1953 : il réalise son premier long métrage de fiction, Fear and Desire. 1955 : il rencontre James B. Harris, avec qui il fonde la société Harris-Kubrick Pictures. 1957 : ses Sentiers de la gloire lui apportent une renommée internationale. 1962 : après Lolita, l’association avec Harris prend fin. Depuis, il poursuit sa carrière en Grande-Bretagne, où il produit désormais lui-même ses films.
